Another point I would like to add is 6969 for the whole world if you factor the Asian markets these are not "that" big of a number, I know that one of the schools in China graduating class was over 20k lol

I received a call from my OB last week that they had found one of these new in the box, I collected it yesterday, beautiful watch! I was surprised that they had one still.

Hi guys,
Do we think these are at their peak price now? Or is an 'unworn' one worth putting away for a 'rainy day' in the future? (Yes, I realise none of us have crystal balls - except maybe, 'The Amazing Glassman'). |

I've recently seen dealers nudging up the asking price north of US$14K, bar Japanese dealers asking around $12K. Even though these aren't necessarily the sell prices eventually a more unanimous collusion could raise the sell unless the demand fizzles.
I will toot the watch's horn- I've been recently wearing mine on the cork strap and it is a really attractive piece. It is deep in details and subtlety and I love looking at it. If Omega throttles back the limited edition releases there is a chance it could retain some re-sale price. While the complaints are many about the plethora of LE it is also one of the cool things about the Speedmaster line, there are some many interesting modern variations it is easy to get sucked into collecting them. |

Most watches are not Patek 5711’s. To buy and hold a watch expecting it to serve as a legit investment I think is crazy when you can literally make the same or more in the stock market, even when compared to a Daytona. The 50th Speedmaster is nice, but for it to triple or quadruple in value in 5 years is basically zero chance IMO. Wear and enjoy your watch, or if you don’t want to do that then sell it today and buy stocks instead. |

You can't wear your stocks.

Make money off stocks or whatever and use that to buy a watch.

It seems like this is a watch that the watch world has almost forgotten about. I never see them even mentioned any more (hence why I thought i'd pop in on this thread revival). Quite strange really. However I even forgot it existed at all.
Maybe the Snoopy has just completely overshadowed it. |

The Tokyo Speedy's are awesome! I hadn't considered this reference before being offered one recently, but now that I have one, I can say that it looks great in person. The two tone on this watch is well done, most of the watch is stainless with gold brought into the face of the watch, it looks striking, well balanced and not overdone.
