Panerai x Bucherer Edition

Hello. I visited for the first time the fully remodeled Bucherer boutique formerly Tourneau store at King of Prussia PA. Such a much more inviting store than the previous one. With the name change, the Blue collection is in full display. The LE PAM01176 has caught specifically my eye - 44mm, ceramic case, GMT, in house P.9010, eco-friendly strap, rubberized blue crown, etc. it was released in late 2020 and appears to be still available. Like to know what my fellow TRFers think of this piece. Thanks in advance.

The strap is eco friendly but the asking price isn't. It retails for $14 -15,000 bucks. Ouch.

It looks like a bunch of different parts were cobbled together. Why does this have a patina date wheel for example?

Now that I’ve seen the date wheel, I can’t unsee it.

I dislike Panerai’s use of blue accents, the date wheel has already been mentioned and the blue crown is trying way too hard. Other than that it’s meh.

That date wheel is a mistake in some of the promo pics - it is white like the rest of the dial indices.

Panerai is trying too hard. Just re-configurations it seems. Over priced.

I sadly get the feeling the Panerai marketing execs are a bunch of young Italian guys who between drinking sessions and parties play a crude game between each other of “what will these idiots buy from us”.

The game gives each exec free reign to push out one piece a year but they can only use old leftover parts. The winner is the one who sells the most comically absurd timepiece

Panerai should go ahead and allow us to create our own piece. Their cases, dials, and hands are like Lego.

FFS, people need to get over this. They tried to engage their audience by re-posting customer images. Some jagoffs posted fakes and Panerai reposted them. Unfortunately, Panerai social media trusted, but did not verify. Verifying some of these super fakes is nigh impossible from a single photograph. So, in summary, they tried to do a nice thing and got burned. Time to move on.

thanks all. I did however not anticipate more luke-warm reception towards not only this piece but also ... the brand and its strategy (& management) in this panerai forum. Looking at this piece, I figured out it appears to be based on the pam01441 - strap, crown, GM|T hand, hour markers and date wheel were changed. Generally, I do not mind a remodeling of a current model as long as the new model is nicely put together, the original model is excellent and that the price of the LE does not carry a large premium over the original one. The first one is a personal choice and I like it. Is the original nice - that I need to know more. Third, does it come with a large premium? comparing the MSRP I do not think so but PAM01441 is selling at 20% discount. Thank you all for your feedback.

Exactly. It's become fashionable to bash Panerai these days.

I'm over Panerai for now. Bought a few pieces and now done. Their marketing is great, the rest pretty average. and Price point is brutal.

Firstly I’m a Panerai owner and love my 112, but the above sums up everything that’s wrong with the company. I own a small business with a large social media output (run by me) and vet every thing that gets posted and tagged by others. Fake watches are at the core of everything wrong with the watch industry and very often tied to criminality. This shouldn’t be overlooked, as this lack of care allowed the image posted by OP to be shown and publicised.

Great thing about being a watch enthusiast is there are many options. For example, I’m over Rolex for now. Marketing is great, build quality for what they go for on the secondary market is subpar at best, and to acquire one at their price point(msrp) is degrading to the average consumer.
