For the life of me I cannot find any Weller here. What would be a good alternative for a wheated?

Larceny is the one I always see available. Weller 107 is available from time to time. The other Wellers are harder to get at retail but stick to 1 store and buy all your wine and party booze from them and let them know what you are looking for and it will happen. Makers 46 and Redemption wheated or easy to get also.

Thanks for the tip on developing a relationship with a small shop. After successfully finding a bottle of Weller 4 years ago (the green label) and giving it away to my dad as a gift, I've been trying to locate one ever since. It was really good. I went back to the same shop last week and asked if they could keep me in mind if they get any Blanton's and Weller between now and April, when my 50th is coming up. I should actually try to buy more regularly from them. Maybe that will help.

I do have a bottle of Larceny in my collection and a couple of bottles of 46. I always keep a 1.75 of regular Maker's on hand, too, but that's about it for my wheaters. All 3 of those are great and I'll always keep them on hand.

Have you tried Bernheim or Old Fitzgerald? I'm trying to use up a lot of the random ones I've bought over the years to experiment with and then focus just on the ones I like, now that I've developed my palate.

Never had Bernheim but I’ll pick one up. I’ve had an Old Fitz bottle a while but haven’t gotten into it yet. Happy hunting!

Jefferson’s Ocean. Voyage#23 is the current one on shelves. Had some yesterday and it’s a very good sipping bourbon!

Very cool. Thanks. I'll look for this one. Is this the one where they actually take the barrels out on ships before bottling, sort of like aquavit has to cross over the equator twice before bottling or you can't call it a true aquavit?

Horse Soldier Barrel Proof is a really good wheated bourbon. I prefer it over the Heaven Hill wheaters (Larceny and Old Fitz). Readily available in my area, great value for what’s in the bottle, IMO. If you aren’t up for barrel proof, just put a few drops of water in it.

I also enjoy Maker’s Mark 101. Their cask strength is good, but not worth the upcharge from the 101 for me.

Closed on our new house yesterday, my buddy did the loan and picked this up for me as a housewarming gift. I told him I’d wait until we are moved in and have them over to crack it open.

Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style, stuff is pure gold and better then most of the Wellers IMHO.

Nice! I have a couple store picks of the Barrel Strength, but did not get a chance to pick up the Rye.
