I'd go for new MVMT

Better said, there's a reason they are offering new movement for a few bucks. (I've heard 10.00 bucks in some cases).

Different places, different treatment. I sent my 26237ST for servicing and APSC offered to swap for free.

Yes, in my case, AP boutique gave me a service chit that showed the case serial, old movement and new movement serials.

Admittedly I’m not an AP owner and I have super limited knowledge of the brand… that said, I’m surprised the new movement is so inexpensive. I’d take it

Very interesting question you proposed.

I think in the end I'd go for a new one. As others said it's a closed back and while it's def a special watch it's not some super rare limited edition...I'd go for the extra power reserve and peace of mind of knowing I just basically got a brand new watch with APs blessings.

I'd stick with the same movement, since its the original beast, it wont be made with that movement anymore, in years time when this watch becomes rarer, it can be really valuable to have it in its original state.

You have the original Beast from the 1990s and you going for a new movement? I also thought it would be a clear answer...

But since it is not, hard pass on the new movement. I'll stick to the original and have it serviced. A new movement from AP is always an option for the future, you can't go backwards.

Even though it's done by AP, I would not touch the watch personally if I was considering a Beast from the 1990s.

You made the right choice just because its not a modern piece. It is a historically significant model being the first ROO. It would be best to keep it all original.

Thanks for sharing.
