Omega Seamaster 300 Diver Blue vs. Tudor Black Bay 58 Blue
Trying to decide between the above two watches for my next addition. Enjoy the timelessness of the Tudor and its compact size, but love the level of finishing on the Omega. Would be curious to hear opinions from people who have owned both or either of these.

Omega Seamaster 300 Diver Blue vs. Tudor Black Bay 58 Blue
I just went through this exact process. I was at an AD. They had both in stock. I handled both and tried both on.
For me, it was an easy decision. I went with the Omega. I don’t think the Tudor is in the same league as the Omega. Actually, it’s not even close IMHO. With that said, if you have a smaller wrist or a smaller budget, the Tudor is an excellent option. The Seamaster definitely wears bigger. It’s 42mm with a lug-to-lug size of 50mm. It’s also more expensive too, so size and price could definitely be a factor for some. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I bring the perspective of someone who owned and wore both for more than 1 month, having time to digest the difference. I can say without question that the Tudor felt better, looked better, and wore better in just about every way.
Sold the Omega at a sizable loss (inclusive of ordering its $300 rubber strap and its buckle). Learned some valuable lessons in the process and came to understand my own personal preferences and taste. To each their own, but to me the Tudor just has a better aesthetic and class. That, and feel on wrist is just sublime.

Omega debatably (or non-debatably) the better watch. However, the Tudor looks and feels SOOO much better IMO. Granted I took 58 over SubC which I have recently sold so I am obviously bias. Tudor is one of the best options on the market from 3k-10k.

Omega, but I can see why some would say Tudor. I have both a BB GMT and Diver 300M in my collection. Try both on. You shouldn’t have a problem sourcing either from an AD.

Tudor is a classic in the making. The Omega is really nice but esthetically there is no comparison. Both are easy to get and try in-person, make sure to try them both.

I recently had both at the same time, but sold the blue 58. Great looking watch, but it was a bit too small for my 7 inch flat wrist. I prefer watches that have more precense and the blue SMP has boat loads of it.

I have owned both and decided the BB58 is a little on the small side for my 7.5-7.75 inch wrist. If we were talking about the standard BB in blue that is the one for me. The Omega is great and could easily be a one watch with the rubber strap, bracelet and NATO options. I have the Tudor Pelagos Blue and moved my Blue Omega Seamaster along but I do want another.

I moved my Omega on after about 8 months. I felt the bracelet was too big. I would go for the Tudor.

Omega Seamaster 300 Diver Blue vs. Tudor Black Bay 58 Blue
Tudor for me, it is such a comfortable watch to wear and looks great on the bracelet or leather / NATO / MN or Vanguard Rubber. Omega probably is better quality but it should be given the price difference between the two. I really do think the BB58 is an incredible watch for the money.

I’ve just sold the 58 blue. Definitely try it on. It wears really well but compared to the original it’s quite flat and clinical. The blue is also quite flat and being honest I tired of it.
If I was doing again, I’d likely go Seamaster as I feel it has more presence and more interesting. |

Omega. Not even close. Tudor definitely not in the same horological category.

I think it really comes down to whichever watch sits or feels better on your wrist. I think the Omega Seamaster Professional is more finely finished. I always want to love Tudor watches and I do think the BB58 series is step in the right direction, but Tudor always seems a step behind in term of finish, fit, and feel compared to Omega.

I prefer the Omega. I have a 7” wrist and felt the Tudor was too small on me. I also believe the Omega is technologically superior to the Tudor. The Tudor seemed a little more subdued compared to the Omega with its ceramic bezel and dial. I wanted something with a little more pop and the Omega fit the bill. The one negative with the Seamaster is the bracelet. It is of high quality, but I’m not the biggest fan of how it looks or that it doesn’t taper. For that reason, I picked up a rubber strap for it.

Everyone has a different expectations and taste.
Find an AD and try them both. That’s really the best way to make the right choice. |

Omega is a better watch objectively, but if it was me making this choice I'd go for Tudor because of the aesthetics and sizing.

I have a 6.5 inch wrist and chose Tudor BB 58 blue last year as the sizing was perfect for my wrist. However, after owning the watch for a year, i find the watch very plain and boring on the dial side. I recently got the Omega diver 300 blue on bracelet and put it on the OEM blue strap. I can’t take the watch off my wrist, it’s stunning. I regret not getting the Omega last year instead of the Tudor. Yes, it’s big in size compared to the Tudor but on the strap, I don’t feel it on my wrist. The blue ceramic wave dial is stunning and the overall watch pops.
There is honestly no comparison, Omega is a better watch all round. But I understand why few people may prefer the plain and under-the-radar look of the Tudor. |

The Tudor is a very nice watch. However, aluminum bezel and bracelet are a bit sub par. I actually think it is a bit over priced ... on bracelet it seems like a $3,200 watch. The omega finishing and technical aspects truly are more comparable to a Rolex submariner ... not the Tudor. I was able to get mine at an AD for $4,060, no sales tax (out of state), and free shipping in June 2021. I love it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I agree. The Seamaster is more comparable to a Submariner. An Oris Aquis has an adjustable bracelet and ceramic bezel. It’s around the same price as the BB58. I’d take the BB58 over the Oris, no doubt, but my point is that the Seamaster is a much higher tier watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The SMP is on a whole 'nother level vs the 58. I don't think it's even a comparison. They wear totally different in terms of size so if you have smaller wrists the 58 will be a better fit. But if that's not an issue Omega 100%

I've had both and feel the Omega is in another league. Sure, the Tudor has heritage and is more classic but in the steel the Omega is so much bolder, more striking and impressive. It's also loads more fun with its 90s aesthetic.
The issue I have with Tudor is that many of their watches rely on a highly simplified design language of their classic, vintage pieces. I get that for some simpler is better. But as far as expressivity and fun go, I'd take the Omega every time. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk |

Me too!
Really surprised by the answers here. Mostly that Omega >> Tudor. I'm not terribly familiar with Tudor, but had the impression they were Rolex-light. I guess this explains why I greatly miss that Omega 300M I had for a short time. |
