Contacted By New Member: be careful

I was contacted by andygriggs201 offering to purchase a NOS bezel insert I have listed... only a member for 1 day, zero posts, no other refs... I politely declined his low ball offer. Don't know him, just wanted to give a heads up...
grateful for this Forum!

When I used to sell things I would get new people all the time with no posts and a brand new account contacting me. Usually its someone who sees what they want while doing a Google search but cant buy it without being a member, so they sign up. Other than a low ball offer, it doesnt mean they are up to anything nefarious. I have had many positive sales with 0 post buyers. You just have to do your best to make sure you are in control, cover all avenues and let them know that items wont ship until funds have completely cleared.

We all start somewhere!

Low ballers. Rude. Opportunistic. Time waste. What more can you say?

Great advice Matt, I would add to be very careful in accepting certain pay methods from new members. If they are looking to use Paypal, you really need to vet them and make sure they have rock solid references or else your watch may be gone. If they don't have references, bank wire or FTF for cash would be my only payment acceptance.
