Need a little advice

Gents and ladies.

I have a 1st world problem. Just offered this from my AD - 26420SO. Thinking to pull the trigger. Any thoughts?Screenshot_20211117-205615_Gallery.jpg

Sure. Do you like it, will you wear it and do you have the funds to buy it? If you answered yes to all of those questions then buy it. If not then don't buy it.

Yes to all, but i did go a bit heavy already this year on the acquisition front. Hence the hesitation...

Talking from past experience. I have had the same hesitations and have passed on numerous pieces. Only to have paid thousands more due to price increases. New year coming so new prices coming as well. Something to think about.

I love it and would absolutely get it. How hard are these to actually get. If you pass but can easily get one next year then there is no rush

Weren’t you waiting for the taupe dial? If you get this, unlikely you’ll get the taupe later as AP wants to give others a chance to buy too

Yes. If you haven't seen it in person, the fit on the new 43s is amazing and would take any of the new 43s. This looks great in person!

Yes. I am waiting for the smoked dial as well. I better ask if this would preclude that. I have to say, they have been very good to me. I got the ro 15500 blue, 26239 blue and 26331 blue within 18 months of each other.

I am in a similar position. Taupe is my first choice but would like to get this as well. Once I get the taupe do I come off the AP list for awhile or will they let me get right back into the queue? Would it make a difference if the next piece was the RG one instead?

Likely it would. Seriously though, this one should not be too hard to get to begin with, unlike Taupe, so better get the latter and pick up that one either at AP or grey with little to no premium.

I would prefer taupe or grey/blue, but if that’s not the case for you, I’d take it, easy enough to get out of if you don’t like it.

I’m new to AP. So you mentioned this shouldn’t be that hard to get. What is the AP equivalent of the Rolex SS Daytona, platinum Daytona and green YG Daytona?

It's not as good of an investment as other models if that is what you are asking

To put things like super high level simple

The RO line is basically Rolex sports model line

The ROO is the classic line

[EDIT : obviously not comparing looks but availability]

RO anything steel is very hard. Hardest is 15202 blue after that 15500 blue
Gold a bit easier but hard as well now as trading 2x retail
Chronos a bit easier but hard
And then some special pieces are like super hard... Like the steel skeleton or some ceramic models

ROO can have some harder to get models but imo nothing a 6 months wait can't solve.

Thanks. That is interesting. I think I’m more drawn to the ROO line so good to know it shouldn’t be impossible. Will be interesting to see the new models next year and if there are updates to the RO.

Taupe would be my priority, whether getting this helps or hurts that would be determinative. Also that's the first time I've written the word determinative.

Get it! I got mine in June and have never been happier, although this was my preferred choice over the taupe. This black dial piece is much more versatile and I am sure it’ll see more wrist time on you than you thought.

I don't think you should be asking strangers on a forum.whether you should be making a $43 after tax purchase.... If it speaks to you, do get it! If it doesn't speak 43,000x to you, then let someone else have their first pick.

As padi always repeats, this should be a luxury article purchase and not a investment question... (ROO isnt anyways)

I’d skip this color - my least favorite of the 43s and hold out for the Taupe

Another vote for holding out for taupe.

Went to boutique and compared 26420 Black vs Taupe vs Green Diver. Will wait for Taupe, should be early 2022.

Got the 37mm 77351ST for wife. Xmas shopping done.

Thanks for feedback all.20211120_140601.jpg20211120_140040.jpg

I’ve never used the word determinative either but it’s a good word and now I’ve used it :-)

OP with the cost of these watches i’d wait and get the one you really want personally.
