My first AP. I've been trying to hold out for the new diver in gray, but every time I visit there's a Code variant or two to try. Long story short, I couldn't turn it down any longer. Just fell in love this watch. I know many don't like this series, but I encourage those who haven't to go and see them if you can. This was not even on my radar a year ago when I started digging into the brand.

Also seriously considered purple and red, maybe the purple chrono down the road? I'm a huge fan now largely because of how I've been treated. I know all sales managers and boutiques are not equal, but I've really enjoyed my experience with AP so far...looking forward to building out a modest AP collection.

Thank you! I have the alligator it came on, but love the rubber straps. I won't be wearing this as a dress watch much, if at all...I just like the rubber better, suits my style/tastes better.

Was trying this in KL earlier this week. Truly impressed with the depth this dial provides. It was on a brown leather strap which I thought suited this watch well - providing some contrast with the black / grey...

Personally I don’t like their leather straps, the Kevlar ones are much nicer

Nice! I would definitely use the kevlar strap as well. Definitely agree reg. the customer service in all three boutiques.

Congratulations -- lovely piece!

P.s. if you're looking to add a little variety down the road, I'd suggest the Khaki kevlar strap. I have it on my chrono and it works so well with the black/gray dial.

Congrats, and that is one sharp looking photo!

Have you tried paring it with the taupe strap yet?

Congratulations, that is a beautiful looking watch.

I too do not understand the AP community’s disdain for the Code line of watches … I think they are beautiful … this one, and the Chronograph.

I have my eye on your watch in White, and maybe the White Gold / Black Dial Chronograph, but the Rose Gold / Blue Dial is nice too ….

Come on AP enthusiasts … embrace what is a beautiful watch … even if it does not “look” AP.

I also have really started to like the Code after seeing it in person. It is really comfortable to wear. I know this will never happen, but it sure would be nice if they offered a steel version with ceramic mid case at a price level in between a ROO and RO.

Yea Codes are nice, most prefer the sports watches, but no hate, they are cool. Enjoy

Thanks! It is interesting, I don't see this as a dress watch at all, but I know many speak about it that way. And I know you are speaking as about sports as a general category, but I'd wear an RO as a dress watch long before choosing a Code, even though it sits in the "sports" category.

I actually started down the AP path looking ROO variants which I consider to be true sports pieces. The new models are just spectacular for me. The Code just pulled even with them as I spent more time with it, so I figured no time like the present.

Thanks everyone for the congrats, and noted on the taupe strap, that does sound like an awesome combo! Headed to the beach for the week, so I'll be taking something that can go in the water, but I will post more photos in the daylight when I get back.
