Hi all,
Here under another reference.
For information the bracelet (93150 H) doesn't match with the production year (1971).
Any toughts ?
Many thanks in advance

Until it's fully authenticated inside and out by somebody who knows what they are doing (with case back cover removed and internals inspected)- assume it's a fake. Lots of folks here got stuck with lemons, don't be that guy.

Nice looking sub with a Mk 5 dial, case looks great, insert appears to be artificially aged but I’d want to have the watch in hand to make that call, perhaps someone with more knowledge in that area can chip in.

You obviously need to see more pics, such as unobstructed dial printing, between lugs engravings, movement, etc. From what I see looks like a decent MkV dial -- a little chipping on the hash marks (e.g., at the 5 and 35), but that's common.

Dial looks a little blotchy/spotty in places but that could be the pictures. You should ask for UV light pictures of the dial and hands to ensure they are tritium.

Finally, not a big issue that the bracelet is a 93150 vs a 9315 -- but just know that you'll probably have a add a net ~1500 (maybe more) to sell the current bracelet (which should have 580 links) and buy a 9315 with 280 or 380 links if you want to be period correct

Good luck

Buy from a trusted dealer whose living depends on their reputation. People like HQ Milton and Tropical Watch spring to mind. These guys are experts who've already authenticated their watches. (I have no affiliation with either, BTW.) Both ship worldwide.

You'll pay a little more for the guaranteed peace of mind, but you'll sleep well at night.

Don't buy from some random guy on Ebay.

If the watch itself checks out I certainly wouldn't pass due to a non matching bracelet.

How about the blotchy and poorly bleached insert? That would definitely bother me considering what a nice insert cost now.

If the insert has been bleached then what else has been messed with? Just me, but once I see 'artificial' enhancement anywhere, then the whole watch is a pass for me. Harsh, maybe but that's my take on things.

That is one fat case, is to too good to be true? Wouldn't we expect to see more pronounced chamfers on the lugs?

Very interesting opinions, many thanks.
I will try to see it by the end of the week.
This one is from a "trusted dealer whose living depends on their reputation".

Hi all,
I saw the watch.
All original parts.
Perfect dial and hands, nice faded original fat font insert, nice fat case.
Between lugs engravings OK.
Caseback is engraved with III 71, lovely movement (+2.3 spd).
No red, even yellow flag (or perhaps the bracelet dated 1983).
Rolex box from the 70's.
Trusted seller (famous watchmaker on the marketplace).

So I bought it !

Thank you all for your valuable toughts and advises.

Congrats Gilel, it sounds like you fell in love and purchased with a lovely MK5 red sub, 1 question though:
what is the serial number first 4 digits?
(-Looking out for you-)
