Rolex 1680 - what do you think?

What do you guys think about the condition and originality of this 1680 i bought recently?

Was told that the hands may have been replaced at some point (but are still authentic 1680 hands). This got me thinking about the rest of the watch... any thoughts?

Really nice especially that case. And beautiful patina on the dial.

Thanks for the input - this is my first dip in the vintage Rolex world and glad to know I didn’t completely mess it up! Definitely a nerve wracking and expensive hobby, but very rewarding when you get it right :)

Dont wanna scare you but you should check the serial, engraving and the movement, if you haven't already.

How did it run you if you don't mind?

The dial is a beauty.

Why not?
For me, because it can make people uncomfortable. I'd feel awkward asking friends, let alone strangers on a forum, how much they paid for something. It's really none of my business.

AGREE. It's common courtesy. Not everyone may feel the same but it's common courtesy not to ask what something costs; regardless of whether it's high or low value.

That's right.

If you really want to know what the gentleman paid, invite him into the drawing room for port and cigars, and inquire discreetly.
