I use mine GMT or Explorer II frequently. Other than tracking time zones, I use the 24 hour hand that points North (when set on local time) to get my bearings after coming off an airplane in a different time zone.

As an airline pilot use the GMT function at work. So on top of being a great looking watch, very useful as well!

I travel most months with work (hate it) and never really use the GMT function as it’s not so difficult to work out quickly -3 -4 -5 hours is etc. The only time I might use it is Asia to North America as I get confirmed with the -13 to -15 hours. I have two GMT’s and the jumping hours is the best function for me.

It's not just for travelers - it's for anybody interacting with information shared to a global audience. News, press releases, even server log entries have to reference a common time reference, which is GMT/UMC/Zulu time.

It's a great complication, especially with the independent quickset hour that doesn't hack the movement.

I have traveled for 35 years plus. Almost the whole time I have owned some kind of dual time zone watch. For the last 15 years that has always been a GMT style (until I got my Skydweller).

I love watches that show 2 time zones.

Professional aviator here....mostly long haul multiple TZ so the GMT 16710 I use regularly is the best watch design ever IMO

It's a good question. Is is a great traveller's watch and would have been great for a young traveller who's tired and out of it and fancies ringing home and can immediately tell if it's an appropriate time. Of course for those who are more 'together' and seasoned or naturally good with maths, adding or subtracting 7 hours and remembering whether it's BST or not, then it would probably seem like a useless complication. I'm the former and used to travel alot which is what spurred me on to buy it, but that turned out to be a romantic notion. I don't get to travel to tropical places any more because I have a young family. One of these days though. Anyway, I sold my old gmt and bought a new sub, it suits me more as I'm always swimming. Not diving, I admit.
