WARPED Rolex Oyster Dial

Can anyone explain what happened to my watch dial? One week its a beautiful Dark Royal Blue color, the next week it looks like someone took a wire brush over the dial....could this be from heat? It sat in a hot mailbox for several hours (Arizona). Anyone have any idea? or does this appear to be a different dial altogether? This is a vintage Oyster Perpetual circa 1969. Thank you in advance...

What's the story behind this? Did you buy it mail order? This wouldn't happen from a few hours in a mailbox.

Certainly looks like heat damage.

IMO your only option is to have it replaced.

probably the dial was redone with inferior material... the heat had this effect on the paint...

Well, there is a chip in the crystal that probably let in some moisture, and when that moisture met the heat... oxidation occurred. IMO

Its not warped but tropical damage. Why do u think it was a different dial? 😓

I blame it on the autoconnect.

I'm not sure with the second photograph being so bad...that anyone could make any legitimate comment.

You can't even tell if it is the same dial.

Thank you...

Yes, I sent the watch away to be polished and cleaned and the crystal may have been damaged during the process. Consequently moisture must have seeped into the watch and the heat warped the dial. The watch dial was in mint condition prior to the cleaning. This is the only theory that makes sense....I thought for a moment that the dial was swapped out but its clear now that the real damage occurred after the heat and moisture began to oxidize the surface of the dial. Thanks everyone!

It is definitely the same dial, there's some visible damage just next to the one and six o'clock markers that are present in both pictures.

Did u mean the movement was serviced? Then it should have been pressure tested.

I blame it on the autoconnect.
