Oysterflex Sizing

Hey Everyone,

Just a quick question about the Oysterflex.

I have a RG Daytona on Oysterflex and something about the balance seems a little off.

The strap has a 350501 E-D on 6 oclock and a 350501 E-F on 12 oclock.

The 6 oclock is clearly shorter which I have read usually is, but this is 2 sizes smaller than 12 oclock.
Size is dictated by the second letter (in this case D and F respectively).

For some reason it feels a little off balance.

Should I be trying a different sizing combination?

It is not too tight or lose really, it just seems a little off balance or off center, I constantly find myself re-centering it on my wrist.
It's not that bad, just enough to notice and bother me...lol

It might just be my odd shaped wrists...

Ask the AD to order you an EE strap for the 6 o'clock side and see if that helps.

I had a similar issue with mine initially. Ended up they (Rolex) has a good handle on sizing. Give it some time.

I got mine with David SW. Never got properly fitted with the official Rolex measuring strap.

It seemed to fit so we kept it at that. It seems more off center than too big or too small.

Thanks, if I am seeing that correctly for my wrists it would be a E and F not a D and F as currently?

Am I seeing this right?
Kinda right on the cusp..

I'd go E/6 and F/12. Using a 6.5 wrist. That's according to that chart.

I keep reading double letters like EE/EF. Not sure what that's all about or what it means.

Thanks, I am going to AD tomorrow and just going to see what they say and order one if necessary.

As far as the codes, it is just Rolexes system.

One of the straps it is printed
350501 E-D
and the other one
350501 E-F

It is the second letter that counts.
I don't know why they don't just say D and F, but I am sure there is a reason.

I know the 350501 is the same strap as YM40, the YM 37 I believe has a different strap number.

Damn, I didn't realize Oysterflex straps are like this. Must make selling the watch a little harder as well as getting it sized correctly for a long distance purchase. Aren't these straps pretty expensive to buy?

Sorry, no help to your question.

I will let you know the price from AD when I get sized tomorrow,
and hopefully I'll get some added clarity on the image of the wrist chart above.

They are about 280 per side. Pretty simple if you own the RG YM or gold Daytona. ADs can simply order you the right size. Pretty cheap for a 20k plus watch.

FYI the standard on the YM is EE / EG. There was another thread somewhere that actually showed what the strap size = bracelet links.

Have you tried to just swap them to the other side. It is true usually the longer is at 12 but maybe try to the shorter one and see if it makes it sit better especially if it fits and not to big or small.

Excellent Info, thanks! I'll update the thread tomorrow and see what they charge, and I agree, if you can save $3000 from a trusted seller (like I did), what is an extra $280?
Rolex dealers should be able to size you and get you a strap regardless if you purchased there. I am sure they make money on that $280.

And that makes sense why my YM on rose was SO big initially

They can as long as you have a watch that it comes standard with. They will ask for your SN and order it from an RSC.

Try with another model like a sub and almost impossible. Rolex would make so much if they made it a standard offering.

I got sized today at the AD and I actually have the right size, but I am on the cusp.
So problem solved...
I think I am being a little too critical. It does fit ok, just seems to
want to tug a little tiny bit up the 12oclock side.
Probably because I am close to the next size down. I currently have the pin on the tightest of three positions
and almost always have easylink tightened too, which is overly the very smallest this strap combo and clasp can go.
AD looked at it and said it looked fine, but when he looked closely he could see what I was talking about.

I have an EE and an EF. Shorter side at 6:00 and the longer side is all the way in to last buckle adjustment. I have a 6.5 inch wrist. My 40mm YM looks and feels pretty good at this size. When I wake up in the morning it is a little snug but not uncomfortable.

THIS was the Chart I was looking for when I posted a while back.
Looking possibly getting 116519LN from a Grey dealer so relevant info for me again.

I see my dilemma back then , my wrist are 180 which is RIGHT at the cutoff for Daytona. I think I needed a E-F instead of a E-G.
Also noteworthy is different sizing for both Daytona and YM.

Daytona comes standard with EE-EF. YM comes with EE-EG. Both should fit similarly. My wrist is about 6.75" and I am standard for both on the smallest setting. I only own the YM, and I know what you're referring to the wobbling towards the 12 side, but I think that's just the nature of having a heavy gold case and not sizing it tight enough. (I prefer it a bit loose).

Are the sizes always 2 letters or can it be only 1? Like on one side only an E for example?

Apparently the newest ones are only one letter. Basically no more first E, now it's just the second letter.

How sure if this are you please ? I have just purchased a Oysterflex strap, 1 piece is size E-E and the other half is E. Do you know when they changed the sizing ?

Thanks. Chris

I have a 6.5 inch waist and I’m on a d f combo. D is four links equivalent f is 6 link equivalent. This is exactly how I have my oyster bracelet Daytona. The ad originally had be on e e. This put the bracelet to far to pinky finger side of my wrist d f is perfect for me.
