A huge thanks to Springer, my 1680 Red is back on my wrist

I posted a thread Tuesday describing how a link in my 93150 failed resulting in the watch falling off my wrist (thankfully it fell harmlessly into the grass).

Springer was kind enough to send me the part I needed...and he wouldn't even let me pay shipping.

He dropped it in the mail the very next day, and I came home today from a trip in the field to find it waiting for me.

I used a series of mini-screwdrivers to slowly step up the inner diameter of the clasp link until it remounted, then simply crimped it closed with pliers.

Now it's safely back on my wrist, ready for a big weekend in Vegas.

Thanks again to JP aka Springer, an asset to this community.

An easy fix with the right part and tools:

Bravo.

I blame it on the autoconnect.

Great gesture! Springer is one of the real good guys here. He helped me identify some issues with a full set Daytona I was looking at. Who knew that the grain pattern on top of the green U.S. Rolex boxes slightly changed from the early to mid-'80s?! (John did.)

He made me look twice at an eBay posting. Picked up on an incorrect service dial I *never* would have spotted. Confirmed my gut feeling that the sellers snippy tude may have been hiding more than I'd care to get into.
