I understand the pros and cons about polishing and I really appreciate everyone's advice.
Bring your warranty card - it is only free if it is under warranty.

I brought my SubC there today for a light touch-up. Went for lunch and it was ready when I came back. All desk diving marks gone. The watch sold within an hour of me listing it - while it was getting barely any interest for weeks before the touch-up. Proof in the pudding for me that lightly polished pieces sell much easier.

After watching these pictures I can understand it.
For my own watches I would say it depends on the scratches. So at first I would try to sell the watch unpolished....and see what happens.

Nobody buys a scratched watch, this is the reason why all dealers touch up their watches before offering them on the market.

To polish or not

Maybe a different opinion, but I’d give it a once over with a cape cod cloth. It will get the worst out without grinding down the metal and give a nice initial optical impression for the new buyer.
