I am in agreement with the concensus that your watch was dropped with the bracelet off.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

Also if it was being buffed. I have seen a watch get snatched out of some ones hand and up against the wall and floor

Ouch. May I ask what the repair work was? I'm not sure what course of action I'd be happy with after someone dropped my watch or allowed it to be tossed across the workshop by the buffing wheel..

when did you notice the dent? I hope it was when you got the watch returned from the jeweler?

I reached out to the jeweller and they claimed there is no way they did it and if they did they would have fixed it. They still sugested i come in and let them look at it to see what can be done. I did find a picture from two weeks ago showing no damage to the watch that I will show them as well. attached are picturs of the damage. How hard would you have to hit the watch to get a dent like that even?

Wow... Yeah, that's some pretty bad damage there. As mentioned above, it seems as if it was dropped with the bracelet off or something. No clue how they could do this and give it back to you like that, as if you're not going to care or even notice.

I didnt get it fixed. they refused to accept responsibiltiy and I didnt really know what my options were for repair. new case? laser weld? I sometimes wonder if its not too late to go back to them and try to fight a little harder. What do you guys think?

I dropped mine and it looked very similar to yours. Unfortunately my bracelet won't fit. I posted a picture and was also recommend laser welding at Rolliworks. When I reached out to them, they said they won't just fix the one lug, they have to polish the whole case. Quote was for over $600.

Here's the estimate I received from Rolliworks to repair two bent lugs from it being dropped. Sorry it wasn't $600, it was actually over $900!!

After a welding you need to polish the repair to get an even surface shine.
Not cheap but I think worth it to restore a damaged watch to its former glory.

Have a similar dent on my Breitling Colt 44mm. Bugs the hell out of me. Dropped it on a porcelain tile floor. If it was one of my Rolex watches, I would have gotten it fixed for sure. My beater colt, paid only $900 for the watch. Going to live with it.

Have you contacted Rolliworks about it? They do amazing an amazing job at restoring worn/damaged cases and bracelets.

I'd be worried that the trauma that caused the dent might have damaged the movement inside.
If it's like that outside.
