i am qctually of the mindset that their should be 'display' watches and then watches that are actually sold. i realize dealers may not do this for inventory reasons but maybe rolex should consider supplying the 'display' models.
would be w a win-win, AD's dont need to freak out when customers are handling the watch and the customer gets a true bnib watch. also has the added benefit of being able to size the display watch for a customer so they know how its going to wear |

I like it when they use gloves. I think it says how careful and clean they are. If they dont use gloves, they dont go down in my opinion either. Just good etiquette

I once had an AD banging the watches into each other (she was new and knew nothing about Rolex). I would much rather have them be over-cautious with gloves.
In addition to the presentation, they are sending a bit of a message that you too should treat these watches with care. |

I think that it's a bad thing if that makes sense. Maybe it's because Goldsmiths used to do it and maybe still do and I don't think much of them here in the U.K

I had an AD do this to me once. That was when I first looked at watches, but it has never happened again.

Haven't we all had enough bad sales experiences in our lives that we don't need to critique the folks who actually do their job with pride?

Did he scratch his head, wipe his brown and pick his nose with the gloves on in between handling the watch :D I guess its a little like how food handlers use tongs when you ask for something off the tray.
I don't wear watch at home as well, just don't feel comfortable with something on my wrist while at home. |

It's a good touch. I like gloves worn by the staff when serving me my morning coffee.

I agree that it makes customers feel better and protects the watch as well

I see nothing wrong with a salesperson wearing gloves.
As far as wearing a watch at home, that's the best place to wear it. You can stare at it all you want without getting into a traffic accident or bumping into someone on the street.

Yes the reason for the gloves are to keep the acid that is in the hands from turning the gold.
Or it's a hand condom to keep the rolex from getting pregnant. |

I actually prefer the AD to wear gloves.
Practically it just makes sense, but also it gives the watch being handled a more authentic and luxurious feel, making me want it even more. |
