What percent are Submariners?
It seems to me that the Submariner is the bread and butter of the Rolex line-up. Kind of like the 3-series is to BMW. Don't know whether this is true.
I was just wondering if anyone had any statistic or estimate regarding the percent of Submariners sold as a percent of total annual rolexes sold? Also, what percent of these Subs are SS? An alternative question, what would then be the bread and butter (most popular or commonly purchased) of the Rolex line-up?

I think by the numbers more DateJusts are sold each year. I do not think there is any way to put a production figure on how many Subs are made each year!!!

Remember that the Sub is made in one size in SS, TT or all gold. The DJ is made in ladies, midsize, regular(36mm), and jumbo. Add to that SS, TT, and all gold models and you see why the Datejust is Rolex's number one selling model around the world.
