What does your AD do for you?

Or non AD if that's the case.

Just received the third Rolex magazine in the post, which prompted the question.

Wonder whether AD's want our business, value our repeated business and I guess even need our business.

My first purchase was in the Caribbean on a cruise and I guess 95% of the purchases on the many islands don't have any relationship with their customers and don't really need them as it's tourists. My second and third purchases were from my nearest AD in the Uk. I've been sent all 3 magazines, had an evening out last year for the new releases, had a great day out at the races and a small discount on my last purchase.

My AD is always friendly, attentive, well informed, and makes sure I can't get a better deal anywhere else.

I've dealt with half a dozen. Only one actually values my business, as far as I can tell. He sent me second (?) magazine on DJ a month or so ago. That being said, I buy almost exclusively from trusted sellers on here. No AD has given me deals like I've gotten here!

I don't consider myself having an AD.

They are places to look and try on watches.

That's about it.

I get squat from my AD except aggressive discounts. I guess I'm good with that.

That's what I want

Could have bought the hulk in Italy for 15% off lost price from an AD. Considering asking my AD for the same

Depends on the brand:

Rolex - Dime a dozen as far as AD's, so just go for price which tends to always lead to one of our trusted resellers.

AP - Have great relationship(s) with two AD's and NYC Boutique. All attentive and great discounts at AD's, Boutique used for exclusive pieces.

Patek - Have one great AD and that brand demands a strong relationship.

Richard Mille - Very exclusive and limited on AD's, have a great RM AD and value the relationship as well as discounts (and THE best swag).

My AD has such high turn over I never see the same sales person twice! It's hard to have any sort of relationship when I've bought from different people and they have since moved on!

I wish we had a locally owned family run AD.

Am very fortunate to have a local AD who has looked after me very well over the past 20 years or so as regards sales and service. He is totally reliable and trustworthy, and has never let down me or the many people I have sent his way. Super guy!
