Which watch do you prefer to travel with? & why?

I prefer to travel with my Sub C because I find it comfortable to wear and my go to watch. I also like it because it goes with my casual dress wear and looks good with a button down. I don't like to bring more than one watch during travel. Although I have booked tickets for travel in Feb, I think I may take my new Tudor Black Bay this time. :) Post pics if you guys have any of watches and travel.

It depends where I go. I would wear any watch I have (Rolex being my most expensive - 16710) to 90% of the places. If I were to go to a 3rd world country I would probably take a Seiko or G-Shock.

My travel opportunity is scarce, and my watch collection changes frequently. Last time (June this year) I went against the usual "travel with a beater" strategy and wore a beautiful vintage Speedmaster pre-moon (105.012-66 CB for you moon watch nerds) to Italy.

This trip made me realize I don't have to fear wearing a nice timepiece on vacation. Just exercise care and common sense (no swimming with this one, etc.).
I also travel with only one watch.

I prefer to travel with my Patek Aquanaut 5164 Travel Time.

Aside from the fact that it is amazingly easy to adjust as you move through time zones and goes with everything in the wardrobe from suits to shorts.....it's biggest advantage is that it flies under the radar and never attracts unwanted attention. Even with a list price of $36,000 the average person probably thinks its a $15 Timex - and that is perfectly fine with me!!!!

Plus it is just so damn comfortable on the wrist!!!!

Very nice watches above! Patek is gorgeous and very classy! All the GMTs make me feel left out... lol I think i need a watch with a 24hr hand next maybe Polar Explorer II with an orange hand or even a classic Pepsi/Coke bezel GMT.

Depends. I did a on of travel before for work to China, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Almost always brought my Kobold and 2 different straps. Domestically I sometimes travel with 2. Which would then be the Kobold on a NATO and more than likely my Panerai Black Seal (when I still had it) or my Corum Ti-Bridge.

I travel often, but I'm either not in a different time zone long enough that I can't just set my sub bezel to read local time, or I'm somewhere long enough that I don't mind setting my watch. That's right -- a sub bezel can be used as a GMT function, too. ;)

Easy! But I have to give credit to TRF member Rani Drama for this one.

So let's say that I'm currently in EST and it's 5 PM, and I just landed on the West Coast:

Since the West Coast is PST (3 hours behind EST), I'll set my pearl on the 3 hour marker (three hours clockwise).

So, when you look at the watch this way with the pearl signifying 12 o'clock, let the 5 marker on the bezel = 1 o'clock, 10 marker = 2 o'clock... 30 marker = 6 o'clock, and so on -- just keep an eye on where the hour hand lands, and the minutes are read normally with the watch normal-side-up.

Make sense? While it's 5 PM EST, my bezel is showing me that it's 2 PM PST.

Also, as you can see in my first image with my carry-on, I had just landed in Portland coming from NYC, and my bezel is set to show local time.

14000 AK. Don't have to worry about someone bashing me over the head or sawing my arm off. Looks like a Seiko from a distance.
