RSC will insist to have the hands replaced. Nothing non-Rolex is acceptable should you ever need the service of RSC. That would also mean replacing genuine set of hands that do not have the same patina.

If this was not disclosed by the seller or part of the deal, you should ask the seller to source a set of hands that will match the dial. They can be found.
Or, as you were willing to accept them to be colored to match the dial, have a set colored and suggest he pays the bill to compensate.

You will find that most sellers are willing to come to a compromise of some sort to keep the buyer happy.
I would push for that rather than send the watch back.
A set of hands would not keep me from buying a watch if the price was right from the start.
