After having both, I sold the Day-Date 40 and kept the Day-Date II. Just personal preference for me.

I did sell mine but I probably prefer the size of the DD2 to the 40.

I love it, Gorgeous YG! (the 40 is pretty sweet too but DDII might be the biggest DD ever made and that means something to me !

That's an awesome DJII my friend, In fact that model was the first Rolex I ever bought and IMHO the nicest of the DJII.

It must have been hard to part with that RG, although your RG Nautilus is a more than fair replacement

Bought a YG DDII last year for my 40th, intentionally purchased over DD40, 41mm is just the better watch, for me. Will never flip this one, it's just perfect.

Flipped both of my DD II's earlier in the year as I did not like the lack of adjustment on the bracelet. Went awhile without them and nothing else did it for me the way the DD II's did. Bought my original YG back from the dealer I traded it to and bought a second back also. Still have a issue with a perfect fit all the time but I can live with it.

I hoped to see the secondary market flooded with DDII, with the introduction of the DD40, in hopes to grab my grail at a really good discount... You guys have only confirmed how wrong I was... along with all the skeptics. They are hard to come by in any real variety now, and have seemed to be marked up $3-4K over two years ago.

I too thought they could possiblly plummet in resale but from what I have seen you are correct 3-4 premium now.
Wonder what the premium will be 20 years from now.
I hope they never go bigger than 40 again. It will solidify it as a collectors item
