It's ok to not like a reference of watch, but why dwell on the negative, when there is so much more positive out there, for all tastes!

The whole connotation of the thread (thread title in particular) , just screams dissension.

I don't foresee a good direction, or topic trend. Still open for now...'OFFICIALLY'.

Ruud, I'm a fan, but this isn't one of your best.....

I was going to reply but this says it best. John Lennon famously said, referring to the negative destructive elements of the 1960s, "if you want to save Peru, go and save Peru."

He meant focus on the positive. Focus on doing and not carping. Owning a Rolex is a lifelong dream for some of us. And there are many Rolex references that don't float my boat. Why focus energy on something you don't like and don't want?

the same can be said about the "large watch" criticism that is rampant here. Us large watch guys usually let that go. Say your not a fan of the BLNR however, that starts a riot.

The non-fans are keeping it very, very civil. Its the fans that seem to be overreacting. Personally I'm in the middle. I prefer the LN by a mile, the BLNR is a nice watch, just not for me.

Plain and simple, buy what you like & love & if it happen to be a popular watch then that a bonus plus.....

Don't buy because of the hyped......

With that being said, BLNR is not for me....

Agree, they're a bit boring, but IMHO all sub-based designs are. Even if they're green. But that's not necessarily bad. Depends on the occasion and also personal preferences.

In certain cases, they're just about perfect. This is also a good excuse to the "why I need more than one watch" problem.

In the spirit of the original post, my BLNR matches the eyes of the zombie dragon from Game of Thrones!!!
I could take Ruud's post and switch it for the Daytona. I'm not a fan of them. I didn't fall for the hype and buy one though. I've had my BLNR for almost 2 years and it's all I ever wear. I have two other Rolex that worn rarely as dress watches. If the LN had a blue 24hr hand and blue writing I might have gone for that.

Zombie dragon comment is great. This thread hasn't gone the direction of the sky dweller, so I applaud the OP keeping this from getting ugly.

I'm not sure a watch has to "entertain" at all times. We could at least pretend these things aren't the jewelry they actually are, couldn't we? There are many options and part of the fun is trying them all.

Your post that your watch matches Valerian's Eyes of G.O.T. is hysterical. I was cracking up...makes me also want to go and buy one!

Have owned just about all the SD 6digit references in the Sub/SD/GMT lines. Only two that stuck around were Hulk and until recently the BLNR. I didn't need BLNR after buying SS SkyDweller and to me subs in black are too common and mundane to be interesting. But I'm a weirdo so whatever

I like some color in my collection, and thought this one might be fun and I could use it when I travel or my wife is in Europe. I studied and liked the photos, liked the bit of blue, and had the local AD get one in for me and... I didn't like the shade of blue. If I'm buying an $8000+ toy, I have to love it. I had the same reaction to the new Explorer II. I liked the size, bit of orange, white dial, but I don't like the numbers on the bezel. I've tried it on many times, thinking it might grow on me, but no.
Still waiting for the next one.
Yellow for me today BTW.

I've said this before... BLNR looks great in pictures. But when on my wrist and had the chance to buy one, the blue/black bezel looked very casual and the PCL's looked very dressy. The two didn't mesh into a cohesive versatile watch, instead the casual and dressy aspects clashed. I far preferred the LN.

I tried to like it but couldn't so I flipped it after just a few months. It looks great on other people's wrists though just not on mine (also not a fan of PCL and Maxi case).

This exactly. Come on guys, it's a watch...it's an inanimate object, not a person, not an animal, not a plant even for you hippie types. This post has been pretty civil with the exception of a few dramatic responses that are desperate attempts to string together some sort of defense against harmless "tongue in cheek" comments. If memory serves me well I recall a similar post about the new skydweller, albeit less direct in its description, but nonetheless still describing it as being less than desirable and not understanding all the hype....there was no backlash on that post. Also, I doubt Lennon ever thought his poetry would be applied to watch forum.....

I love Rolex GMTs - the old, the newer, but not the ceramics. It's like a block of non sculptured steel on my wrist. I miss the proportional lugs from yesteryear, the subtle chamfers and the overall appearance of the older GMT II 16710 and the GMTs 16700, 16750 and 1675.

Adding a two-tone bezel insert to the ceramic model didn't sway my opinion either. Not a fan - to include the "Batman."

Man this is not the thread I wanted to read the day I reserve a BLNR lol. I've already been torn with the decision to flip my LN for one. I read the first to pages (on Tapatalk) and I think I'm going to stop before I second guess myself!!

Don't be silly!! They're awesome. The blue only looks bright in sunlight or a very bright room. I can't make myself take mine off. You'll be pleased, don't worry..
