daytonas - SS vs YG/RG

was looking for a previous thread on the subject, but doesn't seem to be one.
been contemplating between the two - SS vs YG.

both have their respective merits.
was wondering of POVs by others who had gone thru similar choice, and what they ended up with.

Have gone thru this process several times. If it's a one and only... I'd lean towards SS. In a collection that already includes a SS...I'd lean towards gold. PM is excellent, but I'd pick the color depending on comfort level, lifestyle, etc....YMMV

few months back got a president DD in YG... caught the bug since.
also have jlc reverso ultra thin in RG.

amongst other brands/models in SS, have explorer 1 in SS.
the collection tends to be choices that are widely considered iconic and perennially classic.

question of YG vs SS in the daytona: which is widely considered more classic and perennial?

btw, in SS I'd consider 116520 white or 116500 white. in YG 116508 black dial with black subs. all in stick indices.

As far as Daytona....I would believe the more "perennial and classic" would be SS

One hesitation on the YG daytona is that it would compete with the YG DD for wrist time.

I had ordered a rose gold 116518 LN with leather strap and without wearing it I sold it off. I couldn't take the shade of color it was too coppery to me.
Yellow Gold Daytona is definitely having a good impressions on me but I went for the Rolex Daytona 116506 otherwise I could have bought a yellow gold.
As for white gold, only variant I would have considered to buying would be a Meteorite Dial
However, Rolex Daytona 116500 LN 002 is truly a great experience, I don't want to sell it unless I need to make funds to buy Sky Dweller 326934

I'm thinking having an SS model within my current collection is a better fit. especially given i already have YG DD, i think an SS model would complement whilst YG would overlap/compete.

also, my sense is that SS would depreciate less than YG, and therefore if later i decide to move onto something else I'd get a better resale. could even use the sale of the SS to upgrade to a YG version later on.

There is something about the RG Daytona that gets me weak in the knees. YG, Platinum, SS don't do it for me.

I'd get the D500 if you can find one at retail or close to it.

yup, this is where my head is too, but not going too pay crazy reseller prices.
can get pristine condition 116520 fairly easier.
