New Member waiting on 5522A

Hello-

Decided to join the forum because it seems there are a lot of other watch nuts like me around here...Just wanted to hear from anyone that has or is waiting on a 5522A. I was curious on how others experiences were from contacting their AD initially about this piece all the way until it was delivered to those who have them already. My dealer has told me I should get one but I get a little nervous as time goes on. Apparently as of now they have not received even one yet. I wondered if the whole allotment shows up at the same time?

Welcome. Yes I would imagine the AD will receive all exhibition watches at the same time.

Josh, it is excellent. I heard nothing from my AD until I got the call to come pick it up. I know one of the other clients from my AD who also has one but I don't know if he got his before or after because he picked it up at a different location.

Hopefully it arrives soon and you can begin your life together.

Yes. Still waiting. Told I would be getting one. Heard nothing since. I've only purchased one Patek from this AD so I'm not holding my breathe

I actually have never bought a Patek but have bought other brands from this AD. I had to lobby pretty hard, at first they said I wouldn't be able to get it but I sent them an interview with TS about how he would like to see first time buyers receive them as well. They told me they think that helped me and I am very likely to get it. But I guess until it is in my hands I will be a little anxious. If they tell you that you are getting it why would that change?

I have never been told I would get a watch and not received one. I just don't believe it until I see it. With that policy, there is little room for disappointment

If one of their prized clients buys a 600k minute repeater, and says getting a 5522 with it is one of the conditions, believe me that will change a lot...

My 5522 just arrived at my AD. I think there have been at least two waves at this AD already (large NYC dealer). I’m out-of-town until next week, so no incoming until then.

Man, what a waste that would be. Buy a minute repeater and then just leave it in the vault as you enjoy your 5522 for the rest of your days...

PP (and the AD) are not only looking for previous purchasers, they are also looking for future investment and collectors. If they feel that getting you a 5522 will put you on the fever for future Pateks, then they may consider you a good investment.

Brilliant!! Except you forgot one thing. The 5522 will go to 1.2 million allowing you to afford two minute repeaters.

Unfortunately I did not get to go to the exhibition, I live in the west so trips to NYC don’t happen as often as I like (next week tho, mainly to look at watches).

I did get an update from my AD today and he said Patek requested my address and it is confirmed I will get one sometime between now and January. So I feel pretty good about it today

I don't think you'd even need to acquire the 600k; if you bring that plan to any bank, they'd surely trip over themselves to offer you a loan at a tiny interest rate.
