Difficult comparison for me as date or no date. Condition would be paramount. Matte dial 16800 would be my preference

I think I'd go with a matte dial over wg surrounds any day.

16800. Painted hour markers is much nicer in my opinion

Would depend on condition and patina. Any photos of the two examples in question?

16800 matte or 5513 gloss ?
Well I think pretty much everyone would vote for an early gloss 5513. I believe if i'm not mistaken the question was between a later WG surrounds 5513 vs a 16800. I would purely decide based on the condition. Both have things going for them. 5513 being a no date, which I always find more attractive personally, and still retains the acrylic crystal. 16800 being a matte dial. I'd be happy with either, as long as the condition was really good. Here's my late 5513, if it helps! Good luck! |

Thanks all . . . looks like the 5513 WG is on hold anyway
But here are pics of the 16800 matte . . . what do you think ? Case looks ok to me. Confirmed original matching tritium dial/hands. Not sure if the bezel insert is original but has tritium pearl. Apparently, It has the long 'f' in ft which I'm not aware if that's something to get excited about tbh |

[/QUOTE] Crikey that is a lovely dark Patina, not seen one like that on a late Gloss 5513 before |

This is very nice gloss dial 5513 with patina. Beautiful! Mine is lighter patina and love the simplicity of no date sub. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
