I quite frankly don't see the overlap. Get it and enjoy.

SD43 is absolutely fantastic. And BLNR is definitely on my "someday" list!

Thanks for all the feedback, folks! :)

Throwing this back up to the top for the weekend crew. Thoughts and opinions would be appreciated!

They play very nicely together, IMO.

Don't see why not especially if you don't own already own a black Sub Date or ND. While the dials and bezel are similar that's where the similarities end. The BLNR is a thinner watch with PCLs while the SD43 is thicker with a brushed bracelet. Different movements and complications as well. However if you have a Sub Date I would only keep that or the SD43. They are really similar except for the size and unless you plan to collect all the Subs, it really starts to get redundant. Kind of like people who own both the ND, LN and LV. Only one of them will get the majority of one's wrist time. Personally I think one should always keep buying upwards. For example after a Hulk or BLNR, I wouldn't buy a "lesser" Rolex. My. next purchase will be Daytona or Royal Oak. I might pick up a ND for the right price but I already know that I would wear my BLNR much more often. I also don't want to accumulate too many black dial watches.

Started with a Milgauss, then crossed over and added a PO Omega, love them both dearly, but lusted after BLNR for a while before just biting the bullet and getting it. I LOVE THEM ALL. They never fight with each other. Weird.

These two can certainly co-exist in your collection and play nicely. Best of luck on adding one!

I think both could happily exist in a collection together

I think the different sizes, colors, and functions of the two watches make them different enough, but the question is, do you want it? The only one you need to justify this purchase to is you (unless you're married, but that is another matter.)

The heart wants what the heart wants, and if you're heart wants this watch, get it. Later on if you decide you don't want it, it won't be hard to unload.
