IWC Big Pilot

I have the opportunity to pick up an earlier 5002 model with box and papers and hardly worn. I don't know much about them and would like to find out from those in the know. Reliable? Desirable? What would you pay? Thanks in advance.

They’re great watches, definitely desireable, especially the older models. The question is - is your wrist big enough to handle it?

They seem to hold on to their value quite well. I've been searching and the old models are almost the same price as the new models!

Nice! Seen a guy trading in two IWC's so him and the wife could get 2 Rolex's.
They weren't 5002's though.. that's a keeper for sure!

I have no objections. Looks like you're out to get me.
It's an idea, at that.

5002 is the BP to get. If you can find a transitional model, even better.

One of my favorite watches to wear. If/When you do get it. Make sure to try and manual wind the watch. The sound of the gears winding together is intoxicating.
