I used to not, but I have the last 3 years (I'm 37) and have not gotten so much as a cold afterwards.

The benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

My body can take care of that, no shot needed.

The only year I got the flu was the year I got the shot.

Not really down with a formula grown in chicken eggs injected into my blood or nasal stream so I stick to chicken soup and warm clothes.

Read the MSDS sheet from the manufacturer of Thimerosal, a preservative used in the flu vaccine. Then you can make a rational decision as to whether you want to put that into your body.

I get one every year! I have not been getting the flu since I have been diligent in getting vaccinated.

Any protection from flu viruses that have been identified and that are making their way around the world is a Smart Decision. IMHO

It's about 50% effective. There are always stains not covered. Very young and elderly or those with chronic health conditions. I do not usually get it. I am an NP in urgent care and work around the flu all the time.

I am not going to get into the argument about the safety of vaccines especially the use of Thimerosal as a preservative. All I will say is that I have been working in vaccine development for over 20 years, though my focus is on cancer vaccines and immumotherapies. If you are in one of the high risk groups then you should definitely get the flu vaccine. Any risk you believe is in the vaccine is nothing compared to the consequences of getting the flu if you are in one of the high risk groups.

I’ll let my immune system protect me. No way I’m having a dead virus injected into me.

Had double pneumonia and a secondary chest infection two years ago so I'm required to get the flu shot as well as the pneumonia shots. Plus I'm getting older so doesn't make sense to "wing-it" without a shot.

I got it last few years, they do it at work. No flu since. You get a dead arm for a day.

i got in the habit after the last hospital where i worked in Houston required it. They can't make you get it technically, but if you don't, you have to wear a surgical mask all day long during flu season. Seriously. Now its just automatic.

Just got mine this morning actually. I've had a bad case of the flu a handful of times in my life and I'd rather never get it again.
