It's definitely not a rare piece. Head over to any of the watch pictures threads, and seems like every other member there has a Hulk in their collection.
Not knocking it though, it is a gorgeous watch. I just think with it being so commonplace among collectors, its price among pre-owned sellers is not going to soar that high even when it is officially discontinued. It will probably remain around the 9 to 10k mark when Rolex starts releasing stocks in the first quarter of 2018. |

Crazy hype. I asked my AD about the LVC two weeks ago out of curiosity, and I got a call this week that they had one available. I passed on it, but it doesn’t seem too rare to me given that I am most certainly not a big fish. It seems that there are some who desperately want to believe that the LVC is a rarer bird than it actually is. Great watch though.

My thinking is:
1. huge demand for rolex in asia (HK, Singapore, etc). 2. people want a stand out piece and the loud green satifies. 3. prices for the hulk are up but it's still less than models like 126600 red and the ceramic daytonas. It's not a special model so can't see the Hulk stopping production anytime soon. Rolex would stop the 126600 before the hulk surely. |

Isn’t it fun to read older threads and look at your old comment and be right. Seriously, prices are even higher than when this thread started. Alot of dealer have a full waiting list and are no longer taking names. The LVc prices are not going to go down. Can’t imagine anyone turning down one at msrp at this point.

I assumed SS GMT Pepsi hype would reduce the Hulk Hype?

Hype is the new reality of Rolex. We are in uncharted waters now with availability and price points for Rolex.

Nope. I was offered one within two weeks back when I made the post. Don’t think it is true now though, but it’s the same with most ss sports models. Was there not rampant speculation that the LVC was on the verge of being discontinued and a corresponding surge in price?

The discontinued speculated changed nothing before or after Baselworld for the LVc. In fact prices have nudged up even more. This is the new reality I believe of some selected SS Profesional models.

Agreed, but the upwards price surge started with the rumors and then continued on. Not denying it’s a wonderful watch, but to say that the rumor of discontinuation played no part in its dramatic increased demand and corresponding price hike seems like a stretch.

Every time I think we have reached its limit, it goes up a $100. It has to mean there is a lot of extra cash out their for a luxury watch. Summer always pushes up dive watches and this summer is going to be brutal for the Rolex buyer.
