winding backwards

Hi - i read on another forum that you should not wind your watch backwards to set the time. I did this on both my Black Bays when British Summertime ended. They don't even have a date wheel - so is this a problem??

Thanks
Glenn

No.
The date function is where the problem lies.
As there's no date then no problem.

Thanks. Surely, even if there was a date, as long as you wind backwards well outside the window of 8pm-2am, then should also not be a problem? I wound all my watches back at 1pm the day before the clocks went back one hour.

In theory you are quite right.
It always pays to read the manual.

No.

You can wind a Rolex in any direction you want, whenever you want as well as set the time and date.

For Tudor, you can wind it whenever you want and turn the hands backwards and forwards whenever you want. Some ETA based movements do engage the date gears around 10 pm and finish changing at ~2, so setting the date may be a problem........ but not turning the hands.

My breitling manual says not to change the date in that time window.
