Recently becomming a happy owner of my first Rolex, I find myself spending way too much time looking at it, as well as others like it online.

I have noticed a quite obvious difference, I haven't been able to read anything about.

The 'swiss made' at six o'clock is written differently on some watches. I am not able to pin it to certain years nor have I been able to see a pattern with i.e. ingravings in the rehaut.

My watch a '08 M-series has a noticable bigger distance between 'swiss' and 'made' compared to several other YM's I've come across, both older and younger models...
What's up with that?

differences in dials are common.

rolex makes subtle changes to spacing and fonts.

Are you very sure of your source? These are well faked/frankened.

AK797 is correct that these are a common reference to find as a fake. However, owning a 16622 myself, and knowing the various dial fonts, yours appears to be genuine. The short stroke “R” at the end of yacht master and the space between “Swiss made” are known dial variations of this reference.

Frankens are dangerous but every fake yachty I've seen has been glaringly shitty. Yours is stunning, congrats!

They made 3 different versions of the YM1 Platinum.
1/ YM1 with flip-lock clasp and no Rolex Rolex in the dial
2/ YM1 with flip-lock clasp and Rolex Rolex in the dial prob. bet 2008-2012
3/ YM1 with deployment buckle clasp and Rolex Rolex in the dial also changed model number to be six digit. 2012-2016. They discontinued it recently and now have only the blue or new dark rhodium dial only and turned the 35mm mid-size to 37mm. They also stopped the 29mm
This was also my first choice as well, 40mm w/ platinum dial. You can wear it with anything as well. My wife has the 35mm w/platinum dial and I plan to get my daughters the 29mm when they are ready for it.

When I got it I left it on for 6 months and use to stare at it as well. I even made my wife wear it so I can see how it looks from a distance.
