Icon5 John Mayer on Colbert 11/17. What watch?

Musician and WIS John Mayer performed w/Dead & Company on Stephen Colbert last night. What timepiece was he wearing?
My guess: 116719BLRO. Yours? Weigh in.

Yes, looked like a BLRO to me, but never saw a very clear shot.

Its most likely a BLRO. I saw him last summer at Fenway and he was wearing a BLRO and saw him last week at MSG and he was wearing same watch so I think its a very good chance it was...a...BLRO :)

2 years ago when they toured he was wearing a white AP Carbon Concept the whole tour. Nothing like playing Dead music while wearing a 200K watch. That said, he is an amazing guitar player and he gets the music more than any player who has stepped into Jerrys place in the last 20 years.

One can also see there that the case has wider lugs than a Daytona as well.
Mystery solved

He's been wearing the BLRO pretty frequently.. That and his Big Pilots.

I saw an earlier clip couch tour video and thought it was the BLRO also. And I agree that he has really stepped into the lead guitar role well and shown he is nothing like the artist I thought he was. Very impressive. His voice is different, but I think that's better than a Jerry voice clone like Kadlicek.

I'm not sure about that. I think Trey got the music pretty darn well. That said, I really like what JM is doing with Dead & Co.....I'll be seeing them in a few weeks in Orlando.

I saw two of the three Chicago shows with Trey and I thought he was very, very good. And looked like he was having a ball up there. But Mayer has had a lot of time with the band to expand the repertoire and mesh with the guys. That helps! I enjoy them both, although I haven't seen a D&C show yet.

Mayer is an amazing guitarist. Don't know if any of the haters actually listened to his playing.

I saw both and I think JM is heads and above Trey in terms of interpreting the music. Trey, in my opinion, was trying too hard to copy Jerry while John spends his time playing it his own way, which frees up the music and lets it breathe. Don't get me wrong, I love Trey and Phish. Iv'e seen them many times over the years and think Trey is one of the greats. I think John is a true master. Just my opinion...
