I think Rolex saved Wilson's life, or something along those lines.

Saw him on Conan this past week wearing the LV. I'm sure his segment is on YouTube.

Talk about tacky exploitation and marketing. That account of a Rolex saving Wilson's life came from the enterprising folks at Melrose Jewelers and then People Magazine ran with the story. According to the follow-up article, he will also be dreaming of a $24K 'special edition' PM Owen Wilson 'Life Affirmer' Rolex chronometer that can simultaneously measure the humidity in four continents. Unbelievable.

http://gawker.com/5123848/rolex-watc...ogging-jeweler

These earlier comments from the RWG watch forum pretty much sums up what a number of people think of this tale. The posts pertaining to had he been wearing an Invicta (or a Patek Philippe) instead were somewhat amusing.

https://rwg.cc/topic/89551-rolex-sav...-wilsons-life/

Maybe Wilson was initially depressed because outside of some earlier comedic movie roles/success, he's not that great an actor to begin with.

I read part of the commentary on rwg.cc and a guy said: Last night a DJ saved my life

When you crash a funeral you've really hit a low, no matter how innovative you are.

What interested me was why he wore a GMT as a prop in those films if his daily is a sub.

I think he’s hilarious. But this forum is full of experts on actors obviously.
Nice watch. Why don’t we stick to that.

He’s not a great actor by any means, but he’s still really funny. Every character is just a version of the ‘Owen Wilson’ character, so if you like that character you’re going to like his performances. I definitely like most of his movies that I’ve seen.

Great taste in watches too

YES, Jimmy Kimmel. Earlier I mentioned it was on Conan. I was confused as both hosts look so much alike.

Owen Wilson's OK. He's no Daniel Day-Lewis, but few are.
I liked all his comedies particularly "Zoolander" and his war movie "Behind Enemy Lines".

Not a great actor, but has has an ability to seem genuine and can be very funny in an understated way.

Maybe Wilson won't win an Oscar for any of his performances, but he was excellent in "Bottle Rocket."

As a writer, he's definitely done some good stuff working with Wes Anderson.

I don't think he'll starve in the business anytime soon.

He's been working steadily since 1994 and he's worth between $40 and $60 million.

I owe Owen a vote of thanks.

If there weren't any bad actors I wouldn't recognise a good one...
