Got my 16750 back :)

My first Rolex was a GMT Master 16750 purchased in November 1981, and after 35 years (and a lot of pestering) I've got it back.
I had sold it to a friend in 1984 so as to buy a Submariner, and it's been with him the whole time. It's been looked after, but not "babied", had four services although in need of another, but apart from the bezel it's mostly original. There's a little more detail about when I bought it in my original post as below - with a correction - its an 1981 model not a 1980 (typo) as stated in the post.
I'm happy!

Thanks, and yes, I'm happy I've got no.1 back after all this time.

I can relate. Would that we all had whatever we lost or sold over the years, back.

Great story, I bought a 16750 in January, 82. in the 37 years I have owned it, it has had 3 services. I wore it ever day for 35 years. I don't consider my watch original as the bezel, dial and hand were changed during the second service by Rolex. A lot of good information on the GMT here on Rolex Forums. It's a great watch to own, glad you got yours back.

Congratulations getting her back! I think you are lucky you sold it to a friend or she could have been flipped a bunch of times and never seen by you again.
