10K opinion question
I guess you can tell that I really am a newbie LOL.. Lets try this again
My budget in the next year will likely give me three options for watches that interest me. Im hoping to buy my first Rolex and I want a success (I would rather not get involved in a $10K mistake). Options include: 1) 2-3 year old submariner (black ceramic) 2) 10+ year old GMT 3) 9 year old deep sea I have 7" wrists and I currently wear a 41mm omega speedmaster pro Thanks in advance for your advice. If u really keen to get a preowned piece, i would suggest u to get it now as u likely to be paying few hundred bucks to a thousand more by next year especially for SS Sub/Gmt.

Sorry, apparently no longer an acceptable question on this forum.
(Disclaimer: don’t shoot the messenger, just based on things I have read)

These seem like hyper specific options considering the timeline.

Deep Sea is a great reference, however at nearly 10 years old a service from RSC may/may not be in its short term future.

1. Never assume a deal currently available will always wait on you. 2. All three are fine choices. 3. You have the three fit options i.e. 5 digit, 6 digit and the big boy DSSD. Luckily you can wear all three (not all at once unless Jundi3391 is your hero). I suggest spending as much time as possible with each on your wrist. Do this by visiting various dealers a trying them on. Don't be a jerk about it and don't pull their chain. Maybe you have a friend who will let you try his. 4. If you are looking at what will increase the most, chances are it's the GMT. The other two will likely hold at an even rate. 5. What is incredible about the DSSD to me is that it is 100% the finest tool watch ever made by Rolex. Just unscrew the crown and you will know why. If having such a watch appeals to you then you are in luck because right know you are getting a lot of watch for the money. 6. When it comes time to buy, buying the seller is paramount, as is condition and completeness. Once you have made your decision then I would wait for the right opportunity and then act. I hope this helps. |

My vote for Option 1 but you can't go wrong with any of those pieces.

Adjust your azimuth for a rising target by at least 20% if you’re waiting until 2020.

You can get a SS sub at that price especially if you have time to wait.

If you can wait a year go by a few ADs and try to get on a waitlist for a new SubC LN. No Date or Date. Maybe you need a few tries, but should be doable

Sub date for 7”... 5-digit gmt wears so small on mine. What about a Tudor Black Bay Dark and a Sub no date?
