Seriously, my CHNR rocked on South Beach this year. It looked really good and very fresh among a lot of prestigious watches.

I love your watch! Did you buy it to match your dogs, or did you get the dogs to match the watch?

I’m excited for bell-bottoms to come back haha

I don’t think I’ll be into the baggy pant deal, so I’ll be wearing slim fit jeans waiting for bell-bottoms to come back!

My last two New Rolex acquisitions have been TT.

A CHNR and the year before a TT DJ2 with Ivory Dial.

Both beautiful.

And in response to a comment made earlier in the thread about TT and car dealers....the last car dealer I dealt with was wearing a BLNR! Go figure!

It’s just this forum is a fishbowl. Many walk around with SS blinders on. Many feel a need to justify their own purchase and impose their opinion of style on others. It’s silly and I am sure mostly tongue and cheek.

Buy and wear what you like. Who cares about other people? I didn't buy my watches for other people and they don't pay for them or own them.

Personally, I like SS, WG and TT. WG is out on cost justification grounds. If I manage to collect all of my six target Rolex watches, they will be split 50/50 SS and TT. What anybody who isn't me thinks of that, I really don't care. And neither should you.

to me its more that people obsess about the value in SS vs PM, like with SS you are not getting ripped off too, you are.... then they justify the value in Rolex SS vs AP SS like all that extra finishing and movement detail isn't there.

Bottom line, Rolex SS seems to be 9k worth of SS so its fair, and finishing doesnt matter. weird

HAHAHAAHA yeah i noticed that as well.

At the end of the day everyone justifies what THEY own. Its just human nature.

All I know is that personally I love YG/TT. I like it because it just feels so much more special than a SS watch. Its luster, its shine, its weight everything about it.

And yes I'm one of those guys that dont give a second thought of what others think. I was wearing a YG DD40 having lunch with my elderly mom of 65 today (god bless her) wearing shorts/t-shirt and some Nike runners.

I don’t care whether TT is ‘in fashion’ or not, I buy what I like which most recently was the CHNR, previous to that I had the TT 116713LN.

If you love it, can't stop looking at it, smile every morning when you put it on, find yourself looking in the mirror more just to see how it looks then, bollocks to what anyone else thinks.

Personally I love TT. I have a Bluesy and looking for an everose/ss Datejust at the moment. Buy what you love. Period. End of story.

Super glad these latter comments are focussed on the passion and fun of collecting and owning watches vs judgemental demonisation of society if you like a bit of gold

Agree with you always buy and wear what you like not what is fashion or may hold its value. The amount of threads on “will this Rolex lose value “ etc are getting tiresome. Peace and respect to you all genuine WIS out there. There is a reason why there are so many styles/ designs of watches as each person is an individual and tastes vary.

When something is as visually clever and stunning as the CHNR, the more prosaic elements of its construction tend to fall away in my little universe.

It's a CHNR. Enough said. No more description required. Ditto Blusey.

I don't buy for future value, but it does make sense to me on some level to pay for material content as opposed to hype and bubbles. Although one should never cultivate tunnel vision.
