Omega is now laughing at Rolex

This is like a dream come true for them. They get a year with no new hot releases from the crown. Yeah yeah, I know Rolex will sell a ton of watches, but if Omega has a huge release this could represent a banner year for them!

They have a chance to take the positive headlines this year... do they have a rocket or a minger?

the Gold speedmaster. Apparently there is a steel Apollo 11 speed master (to be released this week) and a James bond sea master coming.

Omega has announced earlier this year the new 321 which pretty much is the best thing I’ve heard from a watch brand this year.

I agree Omega is taking names and kicking butt this year. Plus let’s be real, the new Yachtmaster looks a lot like the Seasmasters on rubber.

Loving my Seiko Alpinist blue, only $600, add $89 for a SS solid end link bracelet...

It replaced the SS SkyD blue as a true daily beater. Seiko is easier to read and great for when not traveling. SkyD will prob be used during travels to safe places, except in Europe as no need to be targeted by robbers on scooters / motorcycles.

They’ll probably commemorate the occasion by issuing yet another limited edition.

Maybe Rolex Basel 19' will push me to get the Speedy or SMP 300 I've been thinking about.

Omega will have their usually Limited Edition (fill in the blank) Speedmaster Pro. This year they will be related to Apollo 11. Next year it will be a different Limited Edition.

I don't think Rolex is too worried. They can't even keep them in the display case.

I'm not sure they're laughing at Rolex - at the moment Omega and the other Swatch brands seem to have disappeared into a black hole.

What on earth is going on with their rival event (that's supposedly running as of yesterday)?

When are their new releases dropping?

Why is there no mention of anything on any of their websites?

i would argue that if there was a massive jawdropping release every year (like last year's BLRO) then it wouldn't be as special.

Swatch Group's silence is especially baffling as if they'd have dropped everything, say, 1hr after Rolex/Tudor's disgrace, they'd have 99% of people's attention right now.

Between Rolex and Omega I think they've set out to drive the punters toward Apple watches
