Lots of newbie piling on lately - seller appears trustworthy and knows his stuff. Other Rolexes I saw for sale in his "storefront" seem OK too.

This particular item does have bolder date font like many ladies models.

I never knew gold could corrode like that. I guess the laws of chemistry have changed recently. If it is real, and just dirty, you'd think a reputable seller, or even a malicious seller with a room-temperature IQ, would dedicate 45 seconds and an old toothbrush to clean up that mess before trying to sell it on eBay. If that's too much of a struggle, what other lapses in judgement can an unsuspecting buyer expect?

Yes I am a new poster, but I have been an avid reader of this forum and have enjoyed learning from some of the older posters.
I saw it as I was looking through EBay, I saw the seller had good feedback etc but the watch looked very yellow to me. I was trying to ensure that I didn't do the seller a injustice because I really wasn't sure that's why I asked & I would like to prevent someone buying a fake if indeed it was.

I dont see any corrosion at all on the gold, just dirt and most likely skin gunk from years of enjoyment. A lot of people want to see the grunge on a vintage piece. Its a sign that it wasnt cobbled together or over polished yesterday. It looks like a nice unmolested piece to me.

That's not corrosion.
Seller disclosed its condition as "Running, has light surface scratches, a little grubby, it will fit a 7 inch wrist or smaller. Genuine and authentic."

As for unsuspecting buyers, eBay is not a place for them to find a Rolex - a stroll through TRF WatchOut!!! Is evidence of that

A seller with 100% rating, 37k transactions and a thirty day return privilege. Pay with a credit card or Paypal then take the watch to an expert. If it doesn't pass muster, all you're out is return shipping. If you play it right on eBay you have far more protections than any other online venue.

Trust the seller but always verify with an independent expert!

That's not dirt or corrosion... it's an accumulation of sweat, dead skin cells, and, of course, dirt... I just call it grime... not the worst I've seen, but definitely will need a good polish... you would be surprised what the end results look like!
