Help! Rolex Appraiser? NYC
Long story short but recently purchased a Rolex from Ebay and this seller is from Singapore. Being naive and thought that Singaporean would send authentic pieces but unfortunately things turned the other way. He used a photo with real watch but sent a fake one. I opened up the case with Ebay and now they want me to get an appraisal that would state this is a fake watch which I am sure everyone on this forum could easily determine (a fake submariner that I wanted to destroy so much now!
) Learned the lesson, would never buy it from ebay ever again and only with reputable seller. My issue is that I already called Tourneau, Rolex AD, they don't provide appraisal for watches not purchased there. I am just wondering anybody here would know any watch shop that would do it (I know RSC probably does it and may take a long time) or even online maybe ok. Any help would be appreciate |

Any jeweler or halfway competent watchmaker can appraise it for you.

Try the Diamond District in Manhattan and go around. Just be upfront and see if they can help.

Can't you just return it through ebay's returns policy? Did you use paypal?

Most jewelry stores have an appraiser that they use. Just call around.

I believe in order for eBay to accept a return they need an appraisal. Kind of a huge flaw in the system. A seller can ship a Rolex sub, then all you need to do is find a dirty appraiser and appraise an invicta look alike for 75 dollars and return the invicta to the seller. Easy. A trusted seller on here shared the story with me saying it almost happened to him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Help! Rolex Appraiser? NYC
Try money back guarantee with Ebay , I had an issue with a phone and was really easy to send it back. Also, probably William and Barthman or RSC can authenticate the watch (correct me if I am wrong) I did something similar a few weeks ago. And 3rd Option the Diamond District B-On Time, ask for B or Faddy call them 2125754900 in the afternoon, honest and inexpensive I'm sure they can do an appraisal.

BTW this request is from eBay because they said they want proof of the watch is fake. Thanks for all the help guys, went to RSC and they ask for 150. Eventually went a place in wall street and got the paperwork for 50 in 2 minutes.

I ended up going out to Forest Hills to Lorilil for this after some unsatisfactory conversations with jewelers in Manhattan (one guy wanted $300). This is for a 116520 so it's not vintage or anything.
It did cost $125 though, which isn't great. They were nice in there though. |
