Am I the only one who doesn’t like the wave dial on the new Seamaster?

I really want a Seamaster but every time I’m ready to buy and pull the trigger,I just don’t because I really do not at all like the wave dial design. Am I the only one who prefers the older pre-2017 Seamaster model? Considering looking for a used 2017 or earlier Seamaster now.

It’s funny because when it first came out I absolutely hated it. I thought it looked cheap and cheesy. But I saw one in the wild one day and it changed my mind. Went to my Ob and tried on a few but was on the fence until I tried on the Sedna with the black rubber strap. Instantly fell in love and now I really like the wave.
Have you tried one on? I do like the previous model as well. Both great watches at a great price.

Me too. I like the waves of the one featured in Goldeneye.

Been wearing my cousin's for the last two days and I love it, very dynamic and modern, the Goldeneye is a bit dated now for me.

I too was on the fence but after trying on both numerous times I went with the wave dial and couldn't be happier. Also I just couldn't pass up the upgrades in the movement. Also like the slightly larger case.

Bought with the bracelet but just ordered a blue rubber strap for it. Really pops.

This watch intrigues me.

I have had it since it came out. Black face on rubber.

It is by far my least expensive watch. I have just recently picked up both a Smurf and a Pepsi. However, I find myself wearing this one. I find myself preferring this one. I too am slightly confused by it. But I am loving every single detail about it.

Including the waves on the dial.

I’m in decided. At first I thought it looked a bit gimmicky... now I’m warming up to it.

I like the dial. When it initially came out the pics made the waves look very deep and pronounced, but when I saw the watch in person, it is definitely not. The waves are very subtle and in certain angles you cant even see them. Works well imo.

I'm sure you're not the only one. But I love them. such a signature trait of the modern sm300 line.

Whoa, I somehow missed those super incomings. Big congrats, Seth! Hope the smurf stays for the long run this time! Cheers and enjoy, buddy.

I'm actually indifferent on the wave dial. I think I would've preferred a sand blasted or matte dial, but this watch is perfect either way.

I keep lurking on the 300m thread from time to time and it's making it tough to argue against having one.

me too. it is stunning.

if I did not have mine I would pick that up in a heart beat. but I am not willing to take the bath on mine and pay for the ti version in the process, considering how much I already like mine.

I didn’t like it at first, but now I love it. It’s perfect on the rubber. I don’t like the bracelet much. My biggest issue would be blue or black.

I will for sure pick one up at some point.

Just scrolled through 18 pages of pics in the 2018 SMP 300 thread. I love the dial now haha. Going to buy one next week.

I’m just concerned about the size. My Vacheron constantin Overseas is 42mm and it wears REALLY large.

I typically don't like anything over 40mm, but this wears surprisingly compact.

I'm a fan of the original wave dial like the 2531.80. New ones not so much.

I think you'll be alright, it does have some substance to it, think it feels chunkier than my subc, but feels smaller than the VCO.

That’s how I felt - the more I read Ben’s thread and the more pics I saw, the harder it was to resist , then I caved. And the dial is just mesmerizing , and dynamic (have the black dial). I have an average-smaller wrist at 6.75 inch, and it fits well on the bracelet , smaller(?better) on rubber. In the words of waterboy, “Do it!”
