Splitting Hairs?
So, something I have noticed over the years that kinda grinds my gears. IMHO if a Day Date does not have the President bracelet, it is not a President. Anyone agree or am I splitting hairs?

Initially the bracelet called the President, and then the watch (metonymy is the figure of speech I believe). So who knows what is right anymore.

While we all, at some point in time have referred to a Day-Date as a “president,” the bracelet alone has the “president” title. There are certain DateJusts (for women) that have the “president” bracelet, but no day wheel. Having said that, i would say a Day-Date is just that, regardless of the bracelet, and not a “president.”

No different than in 1945 when they introduced the Jubilee bracelet to correspond with the release of the new Datejust model.

Is Rolex going away from the term "President" by calling the watch the DayDate and offering an Oyster option as a bracelet? I would agree to use the term president the watch should have the president bracelet. It looks the best on the watch in my view.
As an aside seems like every AD I go into the SA is referring to the watch as the "Presidential". I do not believe that is a term Rolex has ever used. |

I do like the fact that Rolex does not offer this bracelet on any other mens watch

Splitting Hairs?
It’s the bracelet, not the watch.

Well the DD on president looks great, but it looks good too on oyster and jubilee. Would love to get my hands on a white gold jubilee bracelet for my 18239 (which does exist as have seen in Rolex charts, but never on a Daydate)
