I think it could be removed but not easily. This watch has been designed to retain the end links it seems to much work and maybe damage to remove them.

I'm going to see one tomorrow and was hoping that they could be removed in order to look cleaner (I love the dial) and to fit conventional straps.
I would say it could but not easily by the owner. I tried pushing the bars inside the case lug holes but they don't give at all. It is all quite complicated and bespoke in there and I wouldn't want to play really as things could get expensive if it went wrong.

Guys bad news on the bracelet fitting, the stock strap comes off fine which bodes well for putting on the tropic which should land tomorrow but.....
You are going to need 19mm spring bars as they simply cannot be compressed sufficiently to slide the bracelet end links inside the fixed links using the pliers. All the tolerances are super tight. Problem is these spring bars are of a very slim end profile possibly bespoke to this watch and could not easily be sourced imo.

Very frustrating and we let our sales guy at the AD have a good go as well and it just won't go in even with the Bergeon pliers. The spring bar shot across the boutique twice and the links were starting to show a couple of marks so I pulled out of the job sharpish, not worth spoiling the finish for the sake of fitting a bracelet which was experimental anyway.

The guys at the meeting tonight felt the bracelet was probably not going to be particularly complementary to the look anyway, making the whole set up look a bit bulky.

Lets hope the Tropic swap out goes a little more smoothly!!

On a positive note I have tested the strap for waterproofness (is that a word?) and it is, soaked it and it dried in about 10 minutes to the original finish. I was sat in the sauna to accelerate the process lol!

If the DSSD is THICCC.

The P01 is THICC. (I'd say the SD is similar).

This watch has been on my wrist since 11/15 and I really like it. I am really glad that Tudor/Rolex had the guts to release such a unique piece.

As you say I am sure with time and a careful consideration of how this was designed and put together the end links could be removed. This watch though was always designed by Tudor I believe so this was not a good idea!

That's not what I wanted to hear, but needed to hear. If it isn't supposed to be removed by the usual process then it needs to stay on.

Quite excited to go and see it. Not said that for a while.

It looks better on me and the mince pies were delicious. Great AD, where else do you get free beer and mince pies?

Looking funky love the strap trouble is the deployment kinda catches my wrist slightly but I may well be purchasing one of those straps.

The lume is pretty cool too. Under UV light the hands light up in blue, but under normal conditions they glow the same green as the plots.

Excuse the awful photo quality.

Ok Boss!

To remove the stock strap unclip the deployant and lay the watch face down and pull the strap away from the end link to reveal the raised lip of the spring bar.

Use a Bergeon fine fork spring bar removal tool or equivalent and from the back ease out the spring bar. You may want to tape the face of the end link lugs to prevent the spring bar marring it on its way out. If possible ease the spring bar out towards you so any marks are on the back of the link lug.

Repeat other end and curse as you look for the springbar on the floor.

Assuming you find it remove the deployant clasp from the stock strap.

To do this remove the safety catch with the etched Tudor logo by depressing the spring bar through the external lug hole. Then slide the spring bar out of the end of the strap and the deployant clasp comes away from the strap.

Remove the buckle from your Tropic or equivalent by depressing the spring bar and load the Tropic on to the Deployant then refit the engraved Tudor safety clasp. Any strap you buy for this piece must be pretty short as the length of the lugs and fixed first steel links take up a lot of space. The Watchgecko tropic 20mm is the shortest I can find and works ok on my 7.25 inch wrist.

If you want your clasp to have Tudor the correct way up you will need to fit your Tropic the wrong way round as this is how Tudor Deployants are configured. That is long piece at 12 rather than 6 as is usual when mounting a strap.

The clasp will not sit central unless you have a massive wrist as the Tropic is not designed for a deployant where the short end is normally super short as per the stock strap.

You could always forget the deployant and just run with the buckle supplied with your Tropic or source a more contemporary, period correct Acier type buckle.

Hope this helps
