Zenith Chronomaster Sport

I like the look of the new zenith Chronomaster sport. Daytona homage?
Will it dethrone the Daytona? What do you think?

The throne is not held on actual merit more than just hype and market perception, which can shift on a dime - it’s not far fetched. Remember the PAM days?

It's a great watch and a superb movement. Can't help but feel it's a "so you couldn't get a Rolex Daytona" kind of watch.

Yeah but in a "Too far down the waiting line" way, not the usual "A Rolex was too expensive for you, huh ?".

How to get to that let me see, the dial is different, the sub dials are different, the name on the dial is different, hour markers are different, the case is different, crono pushers and winding crown are different, markings on bezel are different, it has a date function which is different, and the bracelet is different, apart from these differences some may think they are similar to a Daytona and yes the dial is white just like many other watches..

You may have inadvertently forgotten to mention the display caseback showing off that stunning movement.

I have to say the Zenith is a great looking watch, certainly worthy of consideration as an alternative to the 3861 Speedy I have my eye on.

Dethrone? When did watch collecting become a battle? Nevermind, I forgot that social media turned it into one.

When society recovers from COVID issues, every one needs to attend a local get together to remember what it’s like to simply appreciate a watch and have normal conversations.

In the executive suites of Richemont, Swatch, Rolex and the like it’s a battle.

It looks pretty good, I think it will looks better if all sub-dial have the same color.

Daytona homage? Pretty much!

Will it dethrone the Daytona? I doubt it.

$10K? Any discount?

I don’t really see a battle here - simply because the Daytona is unavailable and may as well not exist at all. Rolex has put itself out of contention as a result of its silly marketing ploy and I sure as hell will not pay double retail, let alone for an arguably inferior movement.

I think this model is going to sell well. It has superior movement than Daytona. It’s iconic (no one can argue that), It’s more available, and now it looks appealing, not because it looks like the Daytona, but simply the contrast of white dial and black ceramic bezel is striking. I also like the subdials more than Daytona.

Not a homage at all. Zenith does not has the wide appeal of the Rolex brand but is technically superior than Rolex.

Don’t forget who’s Daytona’s 16520 Daddy lol

I'm getting one but was told they won't arrive for a month. My white Daytona will still get worn but this would be my choice for vacation and less worry.

There is also a Yoshida limited edition with a black dial and all silver subdials in steel. That's the one I would love to get my hands on to compliment the white dial Chronomaster Sport I have.

Some pretty blue dial variants on the current Yoshida website too, all with single color sub dials.

The Zenith Chronomaster Sport looks like an updated version of the Zenith De Luca.
