I'd say fnd a clean 2531.80. That's the real deal.

@GMT Master: agree that improvements to the SMP line were needed, with the upgrades that you listed. However, there was no reason to upgrade the dial. IMHO, bad move on Omega's part.

I had the Sea Master GMT with the wave dial and when I saw the new SMP I got rid of my GMT. The wave was cool but got tiring to look at and the color looks dull.

I have the old 2531.80, waves are nice.

The white calendar wheel with black font makes it easy to read the date as well

+1 on this detail that I noticed too.

The white date wheel and the lume indices make the overall dial balanced too.

ok guys, thanks for all your inputs.

It was a hard call, tough decision. Both versions have their strengths and attraction.

In the end....I went back to old school......

the bracelet was hard to size for me. one link more too loose and one link less fitting (and sometimes tight). hope fully it gets seasoned as i wear.

Beautiful watch, you can always purchase a 1/2 link and that may help provide a better fit.
