London - must-see pre-owned shops?

in London this week, hoping to find a sliver of time to browse a shop or two.

could i get some recos of reputable places that have good stock of pre-owned pieces?

hesitant on watchfinder as i feel their prices are escalated (even more!) post-Richemont.

cheers

Watchclub in the Royal Arcade is also worth a look. It’s just down the road from the Patek salon too.

The best places for not such high prices in London would probably be London, Ontario.

I have so far found that Watches of Bond Street seems to have a good selection and for the current market OK prices - https://www.watchcentre.com

Haven't bought from them so far, so cannot comment on that aspect.

watchcentre is more of an online shop, has premises, but not many watches

but id get off at green park and work my way to bond street, , taking in burlington arcade and royal parade , then the salon and a few PP ADs dotted about also

dont expect to see any sport models in the salon or ADS but u will down burlington and royal parade

have fun

Also look on Blowers Jewellers website, have an office in Mayfair too if you see something you want to book to view.

They do have the watches, they're just in the safe in the back and not on display. Haven't bought from them, but been in a few times. Dingy digs, but I prefer that to the sterile, slightly scary Mayfair pantheons to commercialism, and they seem like ok people.

Burlington Arcade is a must, and I'd add Grays Antiques to the list...

I’ve bought quite a few watches from Watchcentre over the years including my 116506,my wife’s 80299 and others.

They don’t have that many watches on display but I can vouch for their friendliness and integrity.I keep an eye on their website and they have a high turnover of watches so probably many others like me who enjoy dealing with them.

Thanks for your kind words again Neil

I'm no longer with them, I'm now with Lange & Söhne on Old Bond Street (always happy to say hello to any TRF members!)

I know Watchcentre have been refurbing their premises, not certain if they're up and running again. My advice is to have a look on their website first and shortlist a few watches, they're not a come in and browse type of shop

Chris

Good to meet you Chris - and as a Lange owner, sure we'll run into each other. Must say I got a good vibe from WatchCentre - actually most of the greys in the area are very pleasant to deal with compared to some of the ADs.

Well they have stuff to actually sell. It's the same everywhere, I went into Breitling and got a great reception, then went to Hakkasan Mayfair with a queue to get in for lunch and guess what - yup, poor service, esp for a Michelin star. People are often only as nice as they have to be.

heading back to nyc.
the shops in the arcade were ok... wasn't that interesting, inventory wise.
Antoine de Macedo in Paris was far more impressive.

Well Hakkasan are notoriously rubbish. Far better alternatives (in every respect) with or without Michelin stars.

I fancied Dim Sums and their supreme platter was good, lobster, crab, caviar, truffles was nice, service not really.
