surprise from SA 50th anniversary ice blue

2 months ago I asked my SA for me and my wife next watch.
I gave her several options 16202or rosegold or yellow, 38 skeleton, or 37mm ice blue.

a month later I went to the boutique she said it's bit hard to get jumbo for me also the 37mm ice blue dial is very high demand.. so I was really bit upset I don't know what should I ask because me and my wife has a small wrist.

then today after lunch she texted me that 37mm ice blue is arrived and is ready for pickup!

it doesn't take long, I jump from my bed took a shower, and went straight to the boutique

comparison with my wife 15451ST rotor

I'm really happy the watch looks amazing, it is lighter, the strap is more tapered and thinner. also with the new movement, you don't need to turn the crown to unlock it if you want to wind.

my journey with AP is getting better and better can't believe I got 3 Royal oak in 10 months.

fingerscrossed that I will get Jumbo before December :D

It seems in the east AP is far more generous than in the west.

Congratulations, the ice blue is very nice! Ice blue chrono is top of my wife's list.

So I heard 50th 16202BA was one of the few times I got a straight "not possible" from the boutique, instead of "very difficult, needs a lot of patience", which is functionally similar. Good luck!

I also like the 38 ice blue but sad it didn’t have openback because of the frederic piguet movement…

Haha ive never seen 16202BA in person even AP house HK doenst have the display

Congratulations on such a beautiful RO.
Would that 37mm work for your wrist too? Because that would be excellent if you both could wear it.
That grey dial/diamond bezel must also be 37mm (although it looks a touch bigger), and it makes for the perfect duo for your wife.

Good luck on getting your own 50th Anniversary piece soon.
Thanks for this nice post and pictures.

Killer haul for only 1 year! What’s the wrist size for your wife? My gf’s has small wrists but I would prefer she gets the 37 and not the 34 so that I can also wear it time to time…

It quite remarkable, isn’t it?! I would think everything would be that much harder there with multiple prerequisites. Although the supply is perhaps more, thereby allowing them to fulfill requests easier. What I don’t like seeing in the U.S. is the variable experiences people seem to have, all else being equal, depending on the boutique. It is nice to see people finally get what they’d requested.

I know lot of people that got watch that they really want for the 1st watch, AP Hk did really amazing job they never push people to buy watch what they didnt like. Sometimes its normal to offer code for first piece to see what client response to it and show us their other line up. but yeah i also have mix experiences from some of my friend. But i think all depends about your personality and sales it self 🤞🏻

Congrats on that beautiful ice blue RO for your wife! AP HK is the best, wonderful to work with and always possible to get the piece you want within reason as a first piece!
