If anyone can, they can. They're widely recognized as the go-to guys for sympathetic vintage Rolex restoration.

Do not let Rolliworks laser weld those chamfers. They will ruin the case.

There is nothing wrong with the case. It is almost 40-years-old and is in rather decent condition for its age.

The watch looks good, except for the mis-match, which can be taken care of.

It's a watch worth doing right.

Take it over to the guys at LA Watchworks in Pasadena. They have very good feed back for restoring the things that need to be done to make this watch a stunner.

Great, thanks so much! Could the hand drag get worse? Just trying to figure out timing.

Perfect, thanks for the info! My plan is to take it over to LA Watch Works and have them do it right! I’ll post pictures once it’s complete! One last question, could the hand drag get worse? Just trying to figure out timing.

Thanks again!

It may be drag marks from decades ago, so it the hand is not touching the dial, it will not continue.

If the drag has damaged the dial where the paint is liable to come up, it needs to be stabilized or patched. This will likely keep the value higher than if the original dial was replaced. It is something to discuss with the shop.

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to send out an update because my watch just got back from the spa and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! I had the hands relumed and it got a full service. I'm honestly blown away with how closely they were able to match the hands. I ended up working with Greg at True Patina. I could not be more impressed with his service and expertise. I would recommend him to anyone!
Again, I can't thank this community enough for all the support and direction! Looking forward to wearing this piece proudly!
