Ultrasonic cleaners

Hey all, have any of you ever tried a sonic cleaner to clean your bracelets? If so, any specific recommendations for an inexpensive decent one? Thanks!

Wait until you see the gunk that comes out mate! I clean mine 2-4 times each per year.

I highly recommend the Gemoro, about $35 at ebay. Be sure to buy the Gemoro cleaning fluid also. I agree with the above post. Manually brushing is nothing compared to ultrasonic cleaning.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely check that out!

I just bought an ultrasonic cleaner on Amazon, but in the past I did notice that using an old Sonicare brush and some soapy water got my watches shining like nothing else. Excited to try the real deal, but if you don't feel like buying an ultrasonic, give the old Sonicare a try, you probably need to switch your brush head anyway :)

This comes up probably once a week; do a search...

I've been considering an L&R ultrasonic for a while. Not sure why I haven't pulled the trigger on it so thanks for reminding me to do so.

L&R? I'll have to check that out.

Get the Gemoro. I bought one from Amazon a few months ago it was about $30 and made my watch look brand new. It's a must buy in my opinion!

Thus may be a stupid question but how do you clean it in an ultrasonic machine?

First remove the bracelet via a springbar removal tool, i.e. Bergeon 6767F for $30 from Amazon. This thread will show you how:

http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=44158

Then place the bracelet in the ultrasonic cleaner with warm water and a little liquid soap. Cycle times are generally three minutes. I'll run about 5 cycles to clean a bracelet.

So...I bought one...a good one...bought the cleaning fluid too. I thought it was completely useless.
I do a better job with a tooth brush. Waste of money.

How long did you leave the bracelet in for?

This gunk is inside the link holes and attached to the pins. You can use a toothbrush everyday and not get to this stuff.

You're assuming there are no lug holes; that doesn't apply to everyone, you know...

That's true; another member in a similar thread posted a pic of the gunk he got out with an ultrasound after he did a thorough cleaning with a toothbrush, and it was impressive, to say the least...

FYI - no assuming on my part at all as my response was directed directly to Debbie that's why I quoted her. She had started a thread about an outgoing watch she's had for five years - 116234 - which there are no lug holes.

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=352239

And she started a thread about an incoming watch - 116233 - again there are no lug holes.

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=352638

Both her threads were within a couple of days of her question so that's why I knew which watches she had and catered my answer specifically to her situation for which she'll need a spring bar removal tool

Question: What should one use to remove the newer bracelets without holes in the lugs? Is there a tool that grabs both sides of the spring bar at the same time?
