Crown up or down?

I forgot which slows the movement the most? Thanks all.

When I used to do it I think it was crown up. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in.

Above only really appliers to the older type movement like the 15 series, since the 3 series perhaps difference resting positions could pull back a second or so either way but that's all.

My Explorer I will lose a second over night with the crown down and maintain the time with the crown up.

For my new Explorer ventricle on the 9 has no affect. Ventricle on the 6 slows it down .5 seconds.

That's the way it works with my two Rolexes, a 1675 GMT (1570 mvt.) and a 116520 Daytona (4130 mvt.). The GMT gains about 2 sec/day dial up, loses 3 sec/day with crown down, and loses 7 sec/day or more crown up. The Daytona is fast regardless of position, 5 sec/day dial up, 1 sec/day crown down, and 2 sec/day crown up. This is according to my Timegrapher.
